Purpose
Orkids is committed to ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of every child. We aim to create an inclusive and nurturing environment where children are protected from all forms of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Scope
This policy applies to all Orkids employees, volunteers, interns, consultants, and partners who work with or come into contact with children through Orkids programs and services.
Core Principles
- Zero Tolerance for Abuse: Any form of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or neglect is
- Best Interests of the Child: Every decision prioritizes the child’s safety and well-
- Equality and Inclusion: All children are treated with respect, regardless of gender, ability, background, or circumstance.
- Participation: Children have the right to be heard and involved in matters affecting
- Confidentiality: Information is shared only on a need-to-know
Code of Conduct
All Orkids personnel must:
- Treat children with kindness, dignity, and
- Maintain appropriate boundaries—no physical punishment or inappropriate
- Never be alone with a child in private
- Use positive, inclusive language at all
- Immediately report any concern, suspicion, or incident of
Reporting
- Concerns must be reported immediately to the Center Head.
- The Center Head will ensure the child’s safety, document the concern, and take necessary legal or organizational action.
- Whistleblowers and reporters acting in good faith are protected from
Responsibility
Every staff member, volunteer, and partner shares responsibility for child safety. Leadership ensures training, monitoring, and adherence to this policy across all programs.
Review
The CPP will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to align with laws and best practices.
